Description
Up for sale is a nice Yemeni sword with good quality silver mounts. Those are direct inspiration from Ottoman ‘karabela’ hilt design with Yemeni touches to the silver decoration and material. This particular example comes with traditionally decorated silver mounts called ‘Mansuri’ in Yemen. The silverwork has a maker’s stamp that unfortunately is hard to read. The blade is European in excellent condition. Excellent condition overall except for the dent at the top of the pommel.
