Description
Up for sale is a well made early 20th century Arab sword likely made in either the city of Taif or Makkah. This particular example comes with silver gilt mounts that still remain in good condition. The mounts are intact, the handle made of bone and silver. The scabbard is fully silver with one carrying ring missing. The blade is a European import, most likely a Clauberg German blade. Overall excellent condition and a great example of Arab swords made in the 20th century. Although similar swords of similar construction are relatively common, this example is earlier and made fully using traditional methods with traditional gilt work.
Overall dimensions: 98cm.
